As a person with OCD, I know how torturous it can be to deal with intrusive thoughts, the anxiety that they cause. and how improper treatment simply does not solve the problem. I eventually did Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, so I know firsthand how powerful and effective it is. ERP is a researched method that brings results, and as a therapist that’s held a private practice since 2000, I will use ERP to get you out of the anguish that you feel.
When OCD gets a hold of you, it tries not to let go. It survives by creating intrusive thoughts that you can’t escape, forcing you to come up with creative ways to relieve the overwhelming pressure that they create. I usually don’t talk about my OCD with people in real life, but I will share that information with you so you know that you will not be judged by me when sharing your thoughts and urges during our sessions. I will stay with you by your side regardless of how horrific your thoughts are, all the way to the end when you’re finally able to manage your OCD on your own. I’ve been called empathetic and supportive by members, and I hope that you will eventually find that out for yourself. Together, we’ll empower you so you can live a fulfilled life.
