About

I collaborate closely with my members, creating a safe and supportive space where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We work together to identify and challenge harmful thought patterns and behaviors, ultimately helping them regain control over their lives and reduce the impact of OCD on relationships and well-being. Outside of work, I love to travel and experience different cultures. I have two cats who also think they are therapists and have been known to meow during sessions. I can confidently quote most lines from the show Friends and Frasier.

Get to know Natalie Spitz-Eshelman

I've always known that I wanted to help others. Growing up, I was surrounded by a family of helpers, and their dedication to helping others left a permanent impression on me. Over the years I came to realize that my innate ability to connect with and care for others was more than just a personality trait; it was my calling. Becoming a therapist wasn't just a career choice for me; it was a passionate commitment to a lifelong journey of helping individuals live healthy and happy lives.

Throughout my time in the mental health field, I observed an unfortunate frequency of OCD being misdiagnosed or misunderstood, igniting my passion for advocacy and informed change. I'm inspired to help individuals with OCD live the lives they truly want and deserve. You deserve to be understood—to not feel alone in this—and my goal is to be that person. Together, we can work towards a brighter, more fulfilling future, and I am honored to be a part of your journey toward that goal.

In addition to OCD, I specialize in addressing depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I also have previous experience working with kids and adolescents who have autism, ADHD, and anxiety. I'm passionate about helping individuals find their way out of the darkness and into a brighter, healthier mindset. I particularly love evidence-based practices like CBT because they have proven to be highly effective in assisting those with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. These evidence-based practices provide practical tools and strategies to reshape negative thought patterns and behaviors, offering hope and a path toward lasting change.

It’s normal to be afraid of change. You being here shows that you're ready for that change. Therapy can be a little uncomfortable at times, but know that I'm on your team and you will always have a safe space with me. Know that the uneasiness you feel is the start of you uncovering the roots below the soil, and together we will provide the water that will help you grow and bloom.

That is absolutely OK! I will never force you to share something you're not ready to share. This is a judgment-free zone, and I will always provide you with a warm and safe space. You don’t have to suffer in silence anymore.

What our members say about
Natalie Spitz-Eshelman

L.A.

Natalie not only listens to me--she hears me. What I'm talking about in my daily experience often feels so ridiculous, but I have never once felt condescension from her. I feel safe. And I feel like she really does understand what's going on with me beyond what I can see. I fully trust that she's leading me in the right direction if I can continue to be vulnerable.
