As an OCD therapist, I try to strike a good balance between being nurturing and challenging with my members. OCD therapy really isn't as scary as it may sound! Once people get started, they find they can get a better handle on OCD than they ever imagined. Go at your own pace, and know this is a judgment-free place for you. I'll do everything I can to ensure you feel safe enough to share any of your thoughts with me. My other areas of focus include anxiety, depression, and couple's therapy.

We are so grateful for John Barber, who does such an excellent job of meeting our son where he is, and helping him move forward in ways that feel challenging, but not to the point of shut down/overwhelm. Our son is making progress and we are very grateful.

My therapist has given me the tools I need, the instructions. It's up to me to do the homework.

After having an extremely difficult day with my OCD I scheduled a last minute session, could not thank him enough, what a wonderful therapist with wonderful advice on coping strategies for OCD!

Another good session. Again, he said, "What's a new exposure we can come up with for you?" Ugh... but I appreciate it. As hard as it is, it's what I need.

Very good session. A difficult one to do, but still good. I said, You're going to give me that as ERP aren't you?" And he just laughed. He enjoys his job a little too much! Lol. Great therapist!

Great session. He gave me new ERP to do. He challenges me to keep going though it's scary and hard.

John is a great therapist. He gives me the homework to do. But faith and family are very important to me. He will talk with me about those areas of my life. He even talked to my husband to help him understand what's going on with me.

John is a great therapist. He gives me the homework to do. But my faith and family are important to me so he will talk to me about those areas of my life as well. He even talked to my husband to help him understand more of what's going on with me.

I am hopeful. Seeing some progress. John is a wonderful, caring therapist.

I was not in my son's session, but John (his therapist) deserves some major praise. We tried a different therapy and ERP before with 2 other therapists and the biggest issue we had was my son did not feel he has a voice in his treatment. Getting him to even try therapy for OCD was a battle in itself, but then getting someone to not push him too fast, too soon was another hurdle we encountered. John has been a major answer to our prayers. He challenges my son with his exposures but does it at a pace that my son feels like he can try. My son has REALLY appreciated that. My son might not be ready to fully recognize that therapy is helping him, but as his loved ones, we CAN absolutely see it and we are so thankful. He still has a ways to go, but we are very pleased with the great work he's already done and we know that John has played a big role in that progress.
