He/Him
Licensed Therapist, LMFT
As a therapist, I will treat you with unconditional positive regard. I will meet you wherever you're at, regardless of what your situation is. A fun fact about me: I lived in Alaska for three years, in a small, remote town called Chugiak. I was stationed as an Army medic at Fort Richardson.

ERP therapy may not be as difficult as your worries are telling you right now. Yes, you will have to do some things that are uncomfortable. You're going to have to trust me, and I'm going to have to trust you. Stepping into this can be anxiety-inducing, and it is a big step, but you can do it.
What pushed me to become a therapist was my time in the Army, serving as a medic. I dealt with both physical wounds and wounds that are not visible. There was less treatment for the latter. This caused me to focus on mental health; at the time, it wasn't being addressed as much as it is now. I'm glad to say that things have changed. Helping fill that treatment gap was my biggest motivator.
I've done a lot of work with substance abuse, addiction, and deviant sexual behavior. I know how to have difficult conversations with people about taboo topics. I wanted to bring my expertise and skill sets to an area where clinicians are sorely needed.
I also have experience treating generalized anxiety, depression, substance abuse, PTSD, and persistent serious conditions such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
It might not be as difficult as your head is telling you it is at this moment. Yes, you will have to do some things that are uncomfortable. You're going to have to trust me, and I'm going to have to trust you. Stepping into this can be anxiety-inducing, and it is a big step, but you can do it.
We have a lot of options. If you're not comfortable with speaking your thoughts, you can write them down. You can journal. You can draw. We can explore some type of outlet where you can get your emotions out; it doesn't have to be talking.
