Having spent over a decade treating people with various disorders, I find that my experience working with families helps me a great deal when treating OCD. Family relationships can play a crucial role in exacerbating OCD, but that’s just one aspect I look at during treatment. I also have experience working with at-risk youths and at a local community health center. There’s nothing I haven’t seen before, and by using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, I’ve helped a lot of people put their OCD troubles behind them.

Read moreMy years of experience working in private practice, a psychiatric hospital, and non-profit organizations has prepared me to become a therapist that specializes in OCD. I can handle any OCD challenge that you're facing thanks to Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, the most effective treatment for any OCD subtype. ERP can make a person feel exposed as they face their fears, but I’m here to help you walk through your journey.
Read moreI began my career working in school systems with behaviorally-challenged children and then moved into treating adults & families for severe mental health challenges. Treating OCD was always part of my caseload. I've even done face-to-face exposure work with some challenging disorders. My ability to treat any OCD subtype is enhanced by using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP is evidence-based, which means the treatment is supported by both research and positive outcomes.

Read moreStarting when I was young, through some personal experiences, I have felt called to help people. I love seeing people overcome hills and valleys and by the end of therapy be able to say, "I feel better."
Read moreAs a therapist, I believe it's hard to sustain our day-to-day lives by ourselves. I tend to ground therapy in helping to create and foster connections and support systems, so you don't feel as isolated at the end of therapy as you did in the beginning. I like to get a good understanding of what your OCD looks like on a day-to-day basis. We'll use ERP to confront and cope with those thoughts constructively, setting realistic goals. Outside of work, I enjoy being with my three cats. They are my happy place at the end of the day. When I'm not with my cats, I'm typically enjoying a theme park. Universal Studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, you name it, I try to be there.
Read moreI will bring my all to every session and provide empathy and support throughout your journey. A fun fact: My “therapy dog” Jack loves to lay in my office and sleep during sessions. You may hear him on occasion groaning or grumbling that we are making too much noise and interrupting his nap!
Read moreI love when members are motivated, engaged, and reach their goals. Thoughts are just thoughts. They are intangible and often changing, but can also be irrational and unhelpful, so let's work on them together. Outside of work, I enjoy singing professionally, spending time with my nieces and nephews, going for hikes, and doing trivia nights with friends.
Read moreAbove all else, I want to normalize what you’re going through and make the case for a path forward. After our initial assessment of your strengths and challenges, we’ll explore and rank some of the thoughts and urges that are giving you trouble and collaborate on ways to respond differently to them. We will set you up for success and earn your trust and confidence by starting slow and helping you master some of the smaller challenges. You’ll start to feel encouraged enough to take on the big, heavy stuff. A great thing about NOCD is all the great resources we have for you to feel engaged between sessions—support groups, helpful articles, and supportive videos. Some fun facts about me: Every time I travel to a new place, I visit a local cat cafe. So far I’ve been to eleven of them across the globe. I’m at my happiest when I’m walking or biking around town doing errands, drinking coffee, and listening to my favorite podcasts. I also love stand-up comedy and fantasy literature.
