She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LMHC, LPC
My approach to treating OCD is to be your advocate. I want you to feel comfortable with me in our sessions, so you can feel comfortable doing ERP. I will never see you in a negative light, nor will I judge you, even with the stories you share that may cause you to feel alone and bad about yourself. When I'm not doing therapy, I enjoy going to the gym and reading mysteries and psychological thrillers. I also enjoy hanging out with my husband, our kids, and our youngest daughter's service dog.

In OCD therapy, you and I are a team, and our goal is the same: To help you live your best life with as few OCD symptoms as possible.
I've been interested in psychology since I was a child, especially how the mind works. What motivates our thoughts and behaviors, and what about our personalities? I saw how important it was to be a therapist and how it helped people, no matter their age. The impact can be life-altering. From that moment on, I wanted to help people find the strength they had difficulty seeing but I knew they had.
I have always been intrigued by OCD. As I was in grad school learning about all the different diagnoses, I saw that OCD was in a field of its own. I personally found out exactly how debilitating this diagnosis could be—my husband suffers from severe OCD, and although I couldn’t be his therapist, I saw how this affected him and how much help he needed. I want to help individuals who are suffering and give them the tools to enjoy the life they deserve.
My clinical background is in substance abuse, including extensive training in trauma. I enjoy researching how the brain works, especially when trauma is involved, including how addiction affects the brain.
The therapists at NOCD have been thoroughly trained in OCD. We implement ERP to help members manage their OCD and live the life they deserve.
That is completely normal. Those are your feelings, and you and I are just starting to build rapport. I'm here to help. I will never judge you—even if you're judging your own negative and intrusive thoughts. My goal is to give you the tools to reduce your OCD symptoms. Being honest with me and sharing as much information as possible is only going to help you kick OCD’s butt. We are a team, and our goal is the same: To help you live your best life with as few OCD symptoms as possible.
