I want people to be able to reach their full potential. Sometimes everyone just needs a little extra support to get going. My approach to treating OCD is collaborative — we'll work together to identify intrusive thoughts, triggers, and compulsions, and create a step-by-step exposure hierarchy to tackle during sessions. This is an ongoing process, so changes and feedback are always welcome. I'm here for you, and this is a safe space. I have experience working with people of all ages on anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem, self-harm, grief, and ADHD.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I've had my challenges with anxiety, depression, and different forms of trauma, which influences how I relate to people as a therapist. I'm able to provide that safe space where others can be open and vulnerable about anything related to OCD, as well as other mental health topics.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I do my best to make sure you know from the beginning that you're in a safe space. I recognize that it takes a lot of courage to even show up for your first session, and I'll encourage you to remind yourself of that. I'm here as a support system, and there's nothing you could say that I haven't heard before, or that would scare me away. I want you to feel like you can open up about things because that's what I'm here for.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I want to help you recognize that you're able to do things you might not feel able to do. I always like to reiterate that you can do the hard things, even if you might feel like you can't at the time. As we continue this process, you'll see your potential and realize that you can overcome challenges and get outside of your comfort zone a lot more easily than you might have in the past.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

ERP can be challenging at times, but you have so much support between your therapist and the additional resources and support groups we have at NOCD. You always have someone in your corner. We'll work together to create exposures that gradually build up, so you're reinforcing the skills you learn and feeling more prepared to take on more challenging things.
