People seem to struggle when they become stuck, and I enjoy helping them move forward again. As your OCD therapist, I'll focus on your specific concerns and environment. By recognizing the negative impact of thoughts, triggers, and compulsive behaviors, I can help you gradually work through them to improve your sense of well-being and safety. I will do everything possible to create an environment in which you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts. My other areas of professional focus include substance abuse, anxiety, depression, religion, and philosophical concerns.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I've been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I say all that to say that I've definitely bounced around through diagnoses. I've had experience with being told, "Oh, there's nothing wrong with you. You just need to get over it," and being denied help for what I was concerned about, which I know people with OCD have experience with in spades—not to mention stigma.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I step back and ask, what really is going on for you? I know other people have dealt with this, but what's your story? My past experiences have taught me so much about being able to sit back and actually listen to what other people have to say. And I try to talk like a human being. I need to know there's a human being talking to me, and that's what I try to give to you.
What I want to help you see in yourself
Your autonomy—it's your life. You're capable of taking care of it. That, of course, leads to empowerment. I want to bring out that sense of, "I can do this, so I'm going to do this. And that's that. I'm not going to let this stop me."
My message to you if you're struggling right now
Fear, by itself, is never a good enough reason to make a decision. If we just listen to fear, we're never going to be happy. Even putting that into play in my own life, I think about all the things I would have missed out on if I didn't do them just because I was afraid. Don't let your fear stop you from living the kind of life that you want.
Why our members love working with Jonathan
J.L.
Been working with Jonathan for the past couple months, and I can easily say that I’ve gain the tools to cope with OCD and intrusive thoughts.
K.P.
Jonathan is great because he has a good sense of humor (which feels rare in therapy) while remaining professional. He is not afraid to be honest and “tell it how it is” which can be incredibly difficult when someone is dealing with OCD. Instead of giving into the fears he is helping me challenge them which is difficult but so worth it. NOCD is saving grace for people with OCD.
