About

As an OCD therapist, I take a collaborative and supportive approach to help you develop and strengthen your skills. We will devise your treatment plan together and break it down into clear and manageable steps. I'm here to help hold you accountable and make the lasting change you've been looking for. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending soccer games, nurturing my plants, reading, catching up on movies and television shows—I’m always open to new suggestions—and trying to spend more time in nature.

Get to know Acacia Douglas

I've always been interested in human behavior—why we do the things we do or make the connections we make. Becoming a therapist has been a natural way to explore our emotions, behaviors, experiences, and perceptions while helping others understand these things about themselves and others, then approach things differently to bring about lasting change.

People often have little or incorrect information about OCD, yet so many people struggle with symptoms. Investigating the subtypes of OCD drew me to this specialization. Helping people understand OCD can help them approach those thoughts with different understanding and behaviors. The most gratifying part of my job is seeing changes in the lives of others that allow them to enjoy their lives again. It is so rewarding to watch people do the work and commit to change for themselves and to know I can help.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a certification in medical family therapy, so I come to my practice from a collaborative and systemic perspective. I specialize in working with families, individuals, and couples, managing a range of mental health concerns including chronic illness, grief, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, and depression.

I admire you for reaching out for help and already coming this far. You're in the right place. I'm looking forward to meeting you and starting our work together.

Know that being nervous about sharing some of our most difficult thoughts or fears is absolutely normal. I’m here to help you work through that. We’ve gotten this far—let’s have a conversation. Take a deep breath. You can do hard things!
