OCD creates a false alarm in the brain. It tells you certain thoughts or situations are dangerous, even if it's untrue. ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) helps turn off this alarm. It asks you to be willing to face your fears, which takes courage, honesty and resolve. This will be uncomfortable at times, but it's all about taking back control of your life. You and I will work as a team, and you'll never be alone. I also have experience and interest in faith-based therapy, mood disorders, trauma, and stress-related disorders.

Get to know Lori
My personal connection to OCD and mental health
Since I became a therapist, I've worked with individuals with OCD in both mild and more severe forms, starting as young as five years old, and I became familiar with how much anxiety plays a role in OCD. I understand how compulsions can develop as ways to self-calm and cope with anxiety—and how impairing and disruptive that can be. Additionally, I was diagnosed with PTSD in my twenties, and I know what it feels like to live with fear and anxiety on a daily basis.
How I create a safe, nonjudgmental space
OCD, anxiety, or any disorder can happen to anyone, and it has nothing to do with your character, your personality, or your morals. I want my Members to know they are sitting with another human being who is open, vulnerable, and will not judge them. I want them to feel safe trusting me with their deepest thoughts and struggles—and to know that I will walk alongside them as they work through whatever challenges they're facing.
What I want to help you see in yourself
I want you to see that you can gain a sense of agency in your life. You can make your own decisions and follow through. You can find motivation and resolve to do things you never thought were possible. I want you to see that those abilities are already available to you—and that you can work toward whatever goals matter most to you.
What my Members say helps them feel comfortable with me
My Members have told me that I'm very easy to talk to and that I have a calm presence. They've shared that they don't feel judged, alienated, or estranged when they work with me, and that they feel able to be open and honest—even about things they've never talked about before, or things that feel full of shame. Being trusted with that kind of vulnerability is a privilege I truly appreciate.
