Jordann Perez

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Pre-license number: IMH22477

My approach to treating OCD is to help the person I'm working with understand and channel their own power over their intrusive thoughts. I will collaborate with you on a treatment plan and maintain open communication in a trusting environment. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats. I enjoy traveling, reading, playing video games, and trying out new places to eat in Miami.

Get to know Jordann Perez

From a young age, I've had an interest in psychology and therapy. Growing up, I wanted to understand human behavior and how individuals develop into the people they are. When I saw that those around me, including myself, were struggling with mental health, I began taking steps to become an advocate—someone who helps my community through the ups and downs of human experience—by becoming a therapist.

My own experience with OCD fueled my passion to help those like me who needed help—not only to understand my diagnosis but to adjust my thoughts and behavior as well. After working with several people on their OCD journey and treatment, I realized my experience helped me better understand them. It pushed me to specialize in OCD.

I've largely focused on the treatment of addiction and substance use disorder. I've also worked with families and couples on improving their relationships. My focus in these other areas helps me understand the nature of patterns in behavior and how difficult these patterns can seem to break. My other focuses also help me understand the social consequences OCD can present in one’s life, and how we can help loved ones understand OCD in a more compassionate manner, so treatment is set up for success in a place where family and relationships are present.

The process of ERP therapy can seem intimidating at first. But as we work together, you'll be surprised by what you are capable of.

It's totally natural to be afraid to share thoughts that have been causing you so much distress. Fortunately, at NOCD, we provide an open, understanding setting, so you can feel comfortable sharing thoughts so often experienced by others with OCD.

NOCD therapists are trained by our world-renowned clinical leadership team.

ERP is very new to me but Jordann makes it seem a lot less scary. This session we talked through why I have flair ups and how to manage them. She is super caring and knowledgeable.
