She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LPC
You may be coming into sessions feeling anxious from your OCD. You may fear that your intrusive thoughts may reflect the type of person that you are. Nothing could be farther from the truth. You are not your OCD. During sessions, I'll make you feel calm and in-the-moment with you, so you can feel safe sharing your OCD experience while using each session to gain progress. Members describe me as approachable, compassionate, and supportive. But your treatment is not about me. I’m here to work with you towards your goals, so in a way, our time is a collaboration. Together, we can find the happiness in life that you desire as you learn to manage OCD on your own.

You are not your OCD. Your OCD is just one area we're going to focus on as part of your mental health as a whole. I’ll help you to incorporate self-compassion and to let go of any shame, judgment, and guilt.
I had a great therapist as a teenager. As a teen, I often didn’t feel heard and understood by the grownups in my life. But I had a therapist who was non-judgmental and allowed me a space to be heard. I thought, this is something I can do to give hope.
That's also close to home. I saw a loved one struggle. We're only a few months apart in age, and growing up, I didn't really understand what was going on with him. There was also a stigma within the family—you don't talk about these things; you deal with them and get over it. He found treatment with a therapist who specializes in ERP, and it really changed his life.
In addition to OCD, I focus on treating anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, and stress management. When you meet someone, very seldom are they struggling in just one area. It's often necessary to treat the whole person, not just what they initially come to you for. There are usually other things that are happening simultaneously. I try to take a holistic approach. You are not your OCD. Your OCD is just one area we're going to focus on as part of your mental health as a whole. I also incorporate self-compassion into that—letting go of any shame, judgment, and guilt.
It will be challenging, but on the other side you will learn you can manage it. You must work hard, but the rewards exceed the challenging and difficult parts. On the other side, you’ll gain hope, knowledge, awareness, and the ability to do something awesome.
With OCD, some things are very sensitive. You might be afraid of being judged or looked at differently, but this space is nonjudgmental. I want to ensure that you feel you can be transparent. There is never judgment here. The effectiveness of ERP is truly dependent on the desire to change, and the amount of time and effort you put into it. If you put in consistent work, practice, and effort, the effectiveness is limitless. If you come in ready to work hard, and ready to be in some difficult spaces and experience discomfort, the sky's the limit. It can change your life.
