Toli Van Buskirk

Licensed Therapist, MSW, LCSW

I approach therapy with compassion, empathy, and validation. I'll meet you where you are, and we'll take things at your pace while I gently encourage you to keep doing the hard work. When I'm not working, you'll find me at the baseball field watching my favorite Little League player or shopping with my teenage daughter. I love arts and crafts, breathing new life into things headed to the trash.

Get to know Toli Van Buskirk

Since childhood, I've known I want to help and love others. In high school, I worked at a small-town pharmacy delivering to elderly shut-ins and volunteered in nursing homes and after-school programs. Then I took my first psychology class in college, and done! I had found my passion.

In my practice, I began to notice that OCD characteristics—unwanted intrusive thoughts, feelings, and urges—were common in many adults and children with anxiety and depression. I also saw that traditional psychotherapy didn't lead to meaningful progress.

I have experience with depression and anxiety disorders, ADHD, perinatal mental health, grief, loss, bereavement, relationship issues, life transitions, family conflict, blended families, child-centered play therapy, and parenting.

Acknowledging your OCD and committing to ERP is hard work. I'll invite you to sit with anxiety and challenge yourself to become comfortable with the uncomfortable. I will journey with you, reminding you about your courage.

My goal is to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space. Many intrusive thoughts are scary. They might even seem taboo. I encourage you to remain open and honest in session. Remember that my goal is to support you in your journey.
