It is an honor to offer hope and change to individuals who, like me, face challenges with OCD. As your therapist, my role is to walk alongside you on your OCD journey. The work is collaborative. Together, we'll decide how to help you learn to tolerate your distress. You have a say in the work we do and the exposures we use. I'm originally from South America, and I am proud to be Hispanic. I am fluent in Spanish and love to offer individuals the opportunity to do our work in that language.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I'm diagnosed with OCD, too. While I'll never be able to fully know how you experience OCD, I can relate. I use my experience to connect with people—to offer some hope and support that you can also learn to manage symptoms in a way that can allow you to live the life you want, rather than the life that OCD was making you live.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I always disclose that I have OCD. I try to share enough about my experiences that it doesn't take away from what you're going through, but helps normalize the condition and shows that you're not alone. I try to offer a space of support and hope, and make sure that you know I'll be alongside you on this journey. My job is to meet you where you're at, and create an environment where you feel safe and comfortable. I want to give you a space where you get to decide how you want to go about ERP.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I always disclose that I have OCD. I'll also share that I'm originally from Colombia, and I grew up playing basketball, both in college at Purdue University and overseas in several countries, which allowed me to interact with and work with a lot of people from different cultures, races, and religious beliefs. This has allowed me to really be able to connect with people from different backgrounds, and really be able to meet people where they're at.
What I want you to know about OCD
OCD is not static. It's dynamic. You might be struggling with certain obsessions and fears and concerns, and a couple of months from now, that might look different. But regardless of what the content of your obsessions is, we're going to teach you how to not give those intrusive thoughts, urges, and images as much power and attention.

Erika is the best. She’s helped me through a ton of different obsessive and compulsive thoughts and gives me a ton of exposures I can practice.

Highly recommend, as someone in the field I thought it would be uncomfortable at first and that was not the case at all! Erika made me feel really comfortable, which I appreciate a lot in a therapist. ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️
