I treat OCD by utilizing the evidence-based practice of exposure and response prevention (ERP). We start slowly by introducing you to small situations or thoughts that trigger compulsions and actions, then carefully build to more difficult exposures. Although it's challenging, this will lead to greater control over your OCD and your life. By facing your fears and learning to endure discomfort, you'll learn that obsessions and compulsions can be dealt with positively. Beyond OCD, I have experience treating addiction, depression, and anxiety.

What I want to help you realize
You are not your OCD. OCD can take any form, and it loves to prey on what we love and value the most. If you worry you're going to do something terrible to a child, for example, that's because you really care about kids, so your brain is picking on that. Your OCD is your OCD. It's not you, and it's not your values. It's the opposite of that.
My personal connection to OCD and mental health
My mother struggled with OCD before I was really aware of what was going on. This was in the late 1970s, and she didn't receive good treatment. After I learned about exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, I've looked back and thought about how we could have done so much better for her had we known more. I've also dealt with really bad anxiety, and I've used ERP myself. I think it's a great treatment.
The most rewarding part of treating OCD
Seeing my Members' growth is definitely the best part of my experience as a therapist. Hearing them tell me that they're dating again, or they're working at a new job that they never thought could work before. Hearing that someone is sleeping better, or has gotten into running, or is having experiences they never previously imagined. I love to see people realize they're more resilient than they thought they were.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I think the biggest thing you can do to connect with someone is to let them into how you think and maybe share some things you struggled with in the past. Being a bit more open can go a long way for fostering a good relationship.

Andrew is a very nice and approachable therapist, he’s very understanding and will listen to whatever you have to say. He helped me face my pocd and my somatic ocd head on and has allowed me to start recovering, even if I wouldn’t say I’m all the way there. I’ve made tremendous progress!

Andrew, Mr. Latoszewski, is a very strong, easygoing, nonjudgemental therapist who does straightforward and diligent work. Within 3 months of therapy I saw huge improvements and drastically less severe symptoms; close to 0.

For the past few weeks i felt stuck and doubtful. I have no one to go to express what I felt. My first session with Andrew disregarded all that. Andrew was awesome during the session. I finally felt like someone understood me. He also had patience whenever I had trouble trying to say something.

Andrew was very supportive and friendly towards me. He discussed my OCD and listened to my history, and my concerns.
