About

I want to help you learn how to take small consistent steps that lead to massive sustainable progress through ERP. I'm passionate about what I do, and I want to help individuals regain control of their lives in a way that honors who they are. It's an honor to be a safe space for someone and allow them to share with me as we collaborate on their goals. There's nothing more beautiful than helping someone overcome their struggles or challenges to become a better version of themselves. When I'm not doing therapy, I'm an outdoors person. I love to connect with nature in any way I can, whether that's going to the beach, sitting outside to ground myself, going on a walk, or rollerblading.

I understand what it's like to struggle with unwanted thoughts. I also know the joy and empowerment that comes when you gain control of them.

Get to know Audrey Rivera

As a child, I was always observant. I had the ability to see issues between people they couldn't see themselves. My mother was always helping someone in need; seeing her become a nurse naturally made me want to enter the medical field. During my undergrad program, I discovered my love for psychology. After my first psych class, it all made sense. I love to serve others, and I have a gift for creating a safe place for them. It was the perfect fit.

I have a personal connection with OCD, and I stand behind the effectiveness of ERP. OCD runs in my family, and I have traits of OCD myself. I also had my own journey with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Specializing in OCD helped me better understand my family members and gain insight into my own traits. I know how distressing unwanted thoughts can be.

I have experience in residential programs for adolescents on the spectrum, ABA therapy in homes, group therapy, substance abuse treatment, individual/family counseling, school-based therapy, community counseling, and remote work. I've worked with severe and persistent mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar and BPD.

You are stronger than you know, and knowledge is power. When you gain insight and awareness about yourself, you have the ability to decide how you respond to things in a way that aligns with who you truly are. Making this decision to start therapy was already a courageous step.

From my own personal experiences with PTSD/OCD traits, I understand how thoughts can be distressing. This is a collaborative, non-judgmental process where we will review what your concerns are. There is no pressure to share things you aren't ready to share. Start where you're comfortable; together, we'll gradually work toward the harder areas. Your healing journey is just that: A process that's done step-by-step and at your pace.
