About

I view people on a holistic level, seeing them for who they are, what they value, and learning about their hopes and dreams. Forming meaningful connections with others helps me better understand how to support individuals who are working toward their personal goals. My goal is to help people regain power and autonomy in their lives while eliminating the power of OCD. Outside of work, I'm a musician, an artist, and a writer. I love incorporating creativity into my life and often gravitate toward fun, colorful crafts. Recently, I've been sewing as a way to stay connected with my grandmother. I love nature, going on walks, exploring new places, and snuggling with my cat Bambino.

Get to know Shannon France

When I was in college, I met with a wonderful therapist who helped me begin my own therapeutic journey. I always knew I wanted to be involved in the mental health field in some way. But after my experiences with that therapist, I knew this was the right career for me. Not only am I passionate about helping others, but I continue to experience the benefits of therapy on a holistic level. I believe in empowering others so they may continue to experience personal growth and eventually help others as well.

I wanted to specialize in OCD because there is a severe lack of understanding and adequate treatment approaches for OCD within the realm of mental health. My hope is to provide star-quality care and compassion to people who struggle with OCD.

In addition to treating OCD, I'm passionate about supporting people through transitional life stages, LGBTQIA+ issues, personal empowerment, and women's issues. I also love working with traditional college-aged individuals and first-generation students.

This journey will be challenging, and you may be afraid to begin this next chapter of your life. However, the road to recovery is less challenging and much more rewarding than your experiences with OCD so far. Over time, you will gain skills and continue to grow through what you go through. Things will get easier. Always know that you're not alone in this.

I encourage honesty and transparency within my therapeutic relationships. I understand that you might feel concerned about sharing certain things with me. If that's the case, I'd love for you to tell me about your concerns. I have a non-judgmental stance regarding therapy. This is a safe space to communicate with me. Over time, I hope we can build trust and a sense of openness in our sessions. Sharing what's on your mind will always benefit you, while hiding things will likely prolong the process of therapy.
