About

In therapy, I first establish that this is a judgment-free zone—I'm a safe person to speak with. Second, I want to make sure you know exactly what OCD is and the best ways to treat it. Third, I'll walk with you as you do exposure response prevention exercises to slowly defeat the OCD monster. Some fun facts about me: Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family at our mountain house, hiking, and playing with our dogs.

Get to know Debby Nickens

I was originally a registered nurse. I loved nursing, but after 25 years, I decided to return to get a master’s degree in counseling psychology. I had worked to help people physically and now wanted to help others with their mental health. I enjoy walking alongside others to help them find their way to a better life.

Over the years, I've encountered many clients with OCD, both children and adults. I've researched the best ways to help them and have attended many conferences and classes about OCD. I enjoy helping my clients overcome the power of OCD.

Anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma. I focused in those areas because many people came to me seeking help for these concerns. I also struggle with my anxiety and past traumas.

Therapy won't be easy, but you will not be alone.

I hope to help all members feel at ease and able to share any thoughts. But if that's difficult, let me know how I can make things easier for you.
