About

Treatment of OCD is like the treatment of many other diagnoses—the client is always in charge and able to self-determine. As a therapist, I'm here to support and empower you, guide you through possibilities, and support you through challenges, using data-driven insight. Outside of work, I enjoy fiber arts such as spinning, knitting, and felting. I also enjoy spending time in the kitchen with my partner, walking, watching our cats (I’ve become that person), and spending time with my three mostly grown children. Some fun facts about me: I earned my ham radio license at 13, lived in Alaska for seven years, and was a biology major (which makes me a super-geek in the way I learn about and share information about the brain.)

Get to know Casey-Lyn Knight

My journey toward becoming a therapist started at a young age, with my own struggles. As time went on, I continued to find success in life through the gift of failure. I ran away, literally and figuratively, until I discovered the thing I kept running from wasn't something external; it was internal discontent. The choice to become a therapist was a gift I gave myself—to help myself and others like me who struggle with mental health.

Working with folks who have OCD offers a rewarding experience for both members and therapists. There is a prognosis for a better life and more ease in existence. ERP is based on evidence showing positive results that allow people to feel more content and less distressed.

Trauma, LGBTQIA+, personality disorders, substance use, dissociative identity disorder, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, bipolar disorder, and insomnia.

Using ERP, you'll explore resisting obsessions while being supported by trained clinicians who will help safely guide you through the distress. Therapy and treatment aren't always easy. Then again, neither is having OCD. We will be here to support you. We'll start small and slow, using evidence-based practice to reduce the frequency and intensity of your compulsions.

Sometimes it takes time to build a relationship in which we're comfortable about sharing thoughts and experiences. This stuff can be raw and hard. We will monitor our progress using treatment plans that are specific to you. Goals can include reducing fears and establishing a therapeutic relationship. If the fear of sharing your thoughts impedes your treatment, we can always try finding someone you may have more comfort with. Therapists are a bit like shoes—we are not one-size-fits-all.
