Lauren Jermstad

Licensed Therapist, MSW, LCSW

My approach is encouraging and supportive as well as direct to help you meet your goals. I will acknowledge your needs and fears, meeting you where you're at and empowering you to work toward change. I strive to bring a calm and genuine presence to each session. Outside of work, I spend most of my time taking care of my two little ones and my big furry dog. My family and I love to be outdoors, especially under the sunshine and near water. I also really enjoy live music and cooking and eating yummy food.

Get to know Lauren Jermstad

From a young age, I knew I wanted to help people going through a hard time in their life. I was often the friend people came to when they needed support and someone to listen. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone deserves to feel joy and peace in their life. I am passionate about providing a safe space for individuals to heal, grow, and learn so that they can thrive.

I've always wanted to specialize in an area of need. OCD is often misdiagnosed and there are few therapists who specialize in OCD, but the need is so great. This led me to work for NOCD.

Along with treating OCD, I have worked extensively with children who have experienced trauma as well as individuals who have chronic health conditions and are experiencing significant anxiety and depression.

It's normal to feel nervous or uncomfortable when you're beginning therapy. It's courageous to seek help, and I'm so proud of you for taking the next step. It can be a challenging and uncomfortable process but also rewarding and effective. When the process feels intense and uncomfortable, remind yourself of your goals and the outcome of your hard work and dedication. Know you have me to help guide and support you.

It's OK to feel hesitant and uncomfortable, but I hope you'll feel comfortable opening up as I create a calm, safe, and non-judgmental presence for you. I'm here to meet you where you're at and make hard conversations feel natural. Sharing all of your uncomfortable thoughts with me allows me to better understand what you're going through, so I can effectively guide your treatment.

Lauren is absolutely the bomb! She’s absolutely fantastic and I have made such quick progress on my problem and today we were doing in vivo exposures and I just couldn’t believe the progress I had made and it is all because of her and the connection we’ve made and her skill and ability. So I give her five stars and an A+ all the way.
