About

I'm a very collaborative therapist. The foundation of my practice is being a good listener. I listen to what you're bringing to a session, and we'll work together on how you'd like to move forward. I will match your pace, and challenge you when you're ready. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. We go to the beach a lot. A fun fact: We have a tortoise, and her name is Jessica.

Get to know Betty Blanc

I have always been fascinated by how the human mind works and why people operate the way they do. I also wanted to help people who are struggling with difficult times in their lives. I always found myself to be a good listener and I have a passion for helping others and guiding them to see things from another perspective.

I have done a lot of work with eating disorders, and in that work, I saw a lot of OCD. I feel like they often go hand-in-hand. I have always loved to work with people who have eating disorders and I wanted to see how I could further help those with OCD. I love working with people and seeing them recover and heal, and hearing them tell me that they learned skills and that they feel empowered to do things they were not able to do before.

Eating disorders and substance use disorders, including in a residential facility. I've also worked with school-aged children, from elementary all the way up to young adults, in a school-based setting as a counselor.

I know this is a very difficult and important step. But it's so important that you are here and starting therapy. Our first sessions will really be just an exploration. What are your challenges? What are your obsessions? What do you want help with? From there, we will set goals forwhat you'd like to accomplish and how you'd like to see your life in the future. ERP is very effective because it challenges you to face your fears in a safe and supportive way. It's empowering—you'll know you can handle certain difficult and challenging situations and that you'll have the support you need to get through it.

Know that this is a safe space where there is no judgment. I won't ever force you to tell me things. I hope in time, we can build trust, and you will feel safe sharing those things with me.
