About

I am an empathetic and non-judgmental therapist. I have experience working with many conditions, including relationship concerns. I work frequently with the LGBTQ+ community and identify as LGBTQ+ myself. My favorite fun fact about myself is that in 2014, I climbed to base camp on the Tibetan side of Mount Everest, at an elevation of 19,000 feet. It was really awesome.

There is nothing to judge about obsessions or compulsions. Having a cold doesn't define who you are as a person. OCD doesn't either. They are just conditions to be treated.

The usual reason: I just really wanted to help people. I'm good at listening. That's something I've gotten a lot of feedback about my whole life, even back in grade school. I also love neuroscience, the study of the mind and how the mind relates to the complete picture of health. I take a holistic approach to therapy.

There is such a need. General therapists (like I used to be) are just not trained in how to treat OCD. Graduate programs, at least in social work, teach you how to work as a generalist. There's not a lot of focus on specific treatments like ERP for OCD.

I have experience with many other conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar, codependency, and personality disorders. Codependency and narcissism are specialty fields of mine. I have frequently worked with the Amish and the LGBTQ community. I identify as LGBTQ myself.

Think about if you can make the commitment to getting better. To see progress, you really have to commit to homework daily, sometimes throughout the day, and to come into sessions having done that homework. This is a really prescriptive type of treatment, and it requires a lot of work on the part of the member.

Tell me! There is nothing to judge about obsessions or compulsions. Having a cold doesn't define who you are as a person. OCD doesn't either. They are just conditions to be treated.

Patricia has helped me to see more clearly in such a short period of time. I have been through different therapies throughout my life but ERP has seemed to really help me with anxiety. Uncertainty has always been a big problem with me and this treatment has made the biggest difference. Thank you Patricia and thank you NOCD.

Patricia was great, I felt that I could be open with her and she asked questions that brought up some tendencies I wouldn’t have thought to mention which made the diagnosis even more concrete! She was wonderful!!

NOCD was a helpful experience to help me receive a diagnosis, understand my OCD and take a lot of the fear & discomfort out of my intrusive thoughts and ruminations. Through ERP, I gained the tools to manage my OCD so it become less overwhelming when I encounter my triggers in daily life. My therapist was helpful and worked with me to determine a therapy cadence/pace that worked best for my needs. My insurance didn't cover much of my visits, so several months of NOCD cost a few thousand dollars, but I feel that the investment was worthwhile for me and my journey.

The treatment really works. Once you understand how OCD works and are given the tools to get over the obsessive thoughts and compulsions you have to keep up with it. Once I saw the OCD more clearly I found many more I had. My therapist was professional and great and guided me back kindly when I would get off track. She even helped me get over social anxiety. OCD is a work in progress and I must always be conscious about it. I can’t thank them enough. They have given me life tools to get out of my own way and tripping over my intrusive thoughts. My anxiety and depression have been significantly improved. Thank you so much! I refer a lot of my patients to you.

We’re so thankful for NOCD and Patricia, our therapist. When we first started seeing our therapist for our daughter’s OCD, we were scared and worried for her future. Our daughter was anxious and irritable almost all the time. Now, less than three months later, our daughter is herself again. Well, her same self with new coping skills and confidence. It was hard work and dedication but we are so proud of how far she’s come.
