About

As a therapist, I'm very direct, but also open, empathetic and patient. I look forward to working together with you to ease your struggles and make your life a lot better. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies and spending time with my son, who's eight. I love to get outdoors and go for hikes. I think exercise is really important for reducing stress and supporting mental health.

You’ve come to the right place. Things are going to be alright. In the beginning, things may get worse before they get better. But with ERP therapy, you're likely to see quicker results than anything you've ever tried before.

Get to know Christi Hogan

My father used to drink a lot. He went to get treatment for substance use. Seeing all the ways that can affect a family, I realized I wanted to help others in the same situation. I got my bachelor's degree in social work and then a master's degree in counseling.

I have worked with substance use, depression and bipolar disorder, all of it in an intensive outpatient program. I've pivoted my career to specializing in OCD. I think it's wonderful to be able to focus in one underserved area and enable people to get the help they need.

I've worked with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder in the context of a psychosocial education rehabilitation program. I worked with people on a daily basis to develop skills so they can lead a more independent life and get back into the game.

That you’ve come to the right place, and that things are going to be alright. In the beginning, things may feel worse before they get better. But with ERP, you're going to see quicker results than anything you've ever tried, and it's more effective for OCD than any other form of therapy.

First, let's get to know each other a little better. That will help you feel more comfortable. I might provide examples of something I have struggled with, or examples of obsessions or intrusive thoughts that others have dealt with to make those thoughts seem less taboo or difficult to discuss.

I rated 4 stars because I still feel down, but it's just because I'm doubting the treatment.

Christi is not only there for sessions but she is there to support/encourage/remind how to fight back against OCD in between sessions and that is something I have never been lucky enough to find with previous therapists. She is just the best and anyone who gets to work with her should be ready to crush their OCD.

I didn't really like the therapist that I was set up with she was very strict with her rules of interviewing me and asking certain quesjim's including ones I felt were not necessarily appropriate or had anything to do with obsessive-compulsive disorder I wanted to understand how the gold standard technique for healing OCD worked and what it looked like and it seemed very rigid that you had to have 2 sessions a week and spend a certain amount of time a day I live a very busy life right now after having been in a car accident having PTSD in having to Settle with insurance company and replacing a roof on my house. I'm already pretty busy with a therapy appointment for PTSD once a week twice a week chiropractor wants to wait for acupuncture and physical therapy and I don't have time to schedule 2 more appointments a week and spend 15 minutes a day I wanted to know how the ERP worked and what it looked like and how I could apply to my already busy life. I'm not even really a 100% sure that I have OCD other than just having complex PTSD and ADHD and a stressful life situation. Never been diagnosed with OCD. The first Interviewer insisted on putting me in a category from a very brief conversation and She lined me up with the council that did therapy for hoarding. I'm not necessarily a hoarder And I don't want to be treated as one or labeled as 1 until I'm clinically diagnosed but I don't see how that could happen from a brief forced interview That was very contrived. It seemed like they were just trying to make money by forcing me into this program twice a week.

I'm not sure this is going to with for me. I'm doing too many kinds of Therapy right now and I feel overwhelmed. I'm not sure I can handle TWO appts a week for 3 weeks AND Homework I was hoping to learn ERP and apply it to my Life. I also don't feel like it's a good match with my therapist and I I feel like I frustrated her by my following all of the rules. I also felt frustrated by all of the questions which I found out I could have filled out beforehand. But I thought I answered a lot already in the online intake and phone consult. I didn't there was another questionnaire for intake. I'm not sure how far we got in completing it.

I felt so relieved I could talk about what is going on and get the help I need...this is completely new to me and I am having such a hard time with it but she took her time with me and was very understanding...she listened to everything I said with no judgment. I am very happy to have her as my therapist 😊

Working through NOCDs program with the help of my wonderful therapist, Christi Hogan, has been completely life changing. When I first reached out/started, I was completely broken. My world was becoming smaller and smaller with triggers everywhere; I wasn’t even able to drive anymore. I was completely terrified to reach out due to past negative experiences with other therapy companies. But Christi made me feel so comfortable, which allowed me to actually open up about my deepest obsessions and compulsions. She was with me every step of the way, helping me along. I can’t even believe the person I have become in the last year. I’m forever grateful for her, my life has opened up in so many ways I never thought possible. Thank you Christi!

Christi Hogan is a wonderful therapist. She has helped me immensely. Christi gave me key phrases to help me deal with my OCD . Some of the phrases being: OCD is just fishing , don't take the bait, just because OCD is telling you to do something, you don't have to listen, OCD does not tell the truth. I began to realize that there was a part of my brain that was "misfiring". My brain was warning me about things that were not a threat. Once Christi confirmed that I was correct, I started to view my OCD in a completely different manner. I now view my OCD as a part of my brain that needs help to recognize that it is harming me by repeatedly warning me about non-threatening situations. Christi is patient, caring, dedicated and willing to listen and consider any idea I may have about any area of my therapy. She is also terrific at refining ideas until they fit an exposure perfectly. I am so grateful she is on this journey with me. I will be free some day because of her guidance.

This therapist has worked really hard to make this program work for my son, who has autism. Our first therapist with NOCD did not. She was very passive and wasted both our time and money. We stopped for quite a while but decided to give it another try. We’re glad we did.

This was my first session and I teared up out of happiness because I finally have HOPE that this specialized therapy that was explained can help me overcome my disorder! It was very specific to what I am struggling with and I have never found a counselor that accepted this for what it was and had the tools to help me recover.
