My therapist is very kind and empathetic… this work is very hard so of course my anxiety is very high during ERP, I’m having other health issues and having health OCD so my therapist is very honest about how he believes we should treat it and how to go forth with ERP sometimes in a sensitive way, especially on hard days! It’s very helpful.

I have seen many therapists, and there are moments in therapy, if it’s being done right, you come to very deep realizations about yourself. Again, I can’t say how wonderful Dr. Marcio is. I’ve had at least 4 therapists before him. Dr. Marcio actually cares about those he works with, he listens to you. He asks awesome questions instead of just “going through the motions”. He gets you thinking and realizing things about yourself you never thought of before. The therapy model on here is great, but it takes a great professional to make it effective, and Dr. Marcio does just that. Thank you for everything. I look forward to continuing our journey together!

This is my son’s mom. He and I were just chatting how far he has come in the past 5 months since OCD first presented itself and Marcio began helping him. My son has learned how to recognize and manage OCD and not be so controlled by compulsions. Thank you so much Marcio and the NOCD team, you’re very much appreciated! I was apprehensive at first about how effective virtual sessions would be for my teen vs in-person, but that doesn’t seem to matter plus it’s far easier to fit into our busy schedules. My therapist was very diligent about ensuring he understood the specifics and degree of my emotional suffering. This included going over my responses on NOCD's assessments and asking me to provide him with an Obsessive Fear Monitoring Form on which I'd written details concerning my triggers for obsessions, etc.

During this second session, my therapist led me through an ERP technique he'd customized toward an obsession that's troubled me daily for a good while. I since have used this technique several times each day, confronting the obsession without using compulsions in an effort to reduce the stress. I'd say that, all in all, things are improving at this early stage. Also, confronting the obsession has given me the feeling of having a degree of control over it, whereas before I felt it largely was controlling me. Further, my therapist enabled me to realize that my obsession-caused stress almost immediately prompted me to breathe shallowly, making the stress worse. He urged me to employ diaphragmatic breathing and taught me more about this technique than I'd previously been aware of. This also has been helpful.

I feel my first session with Marcio went very well. He clearly was empathetic that my longstanding OCD has become acute during the past several months and has been impacting my life considerably. He also demonstrated kind patience with my tendency to over-explain myself and moved the session along well to gain the information he needed. I've never previously had a therapist who specializes in treating OCD, and I look forward to benefitting from Marcio's expertise and, with his guidance, to working hard to significantly reduce my OCD-caused stress.

My son was able to feel heard and seen in his time working with Marcio, more so than with a previous therapist we had worked with.
