My approach to OCD therapy starts by affirming your experience with these intrusive thoughts that you're having. They're scary and distressing, but you are not your OCD! You should know that OCD is a bully, and you can overcome what the bully is doing to you. Therapy will be hard, and it may get worse before it gets better. Just hang in there! The more you face your fear, the less scary it becomes. Beyond OCD, I also focus on treating body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs).

Megan is amazing. I always appreciate her thoughtful insight and encouragement. With her help, I’ve made progress that I never thought was possible. If you had told me a year ago I would be where I’m at today with my OCD, I wouldn’t have believed it. OCD no longer dictates my life. I get to live my life the way I want to live, not the way OCD wants.

During my last session, Megan helped me make a huge revelation about the root theme of my obsessions/core fears and how my various obsessive thoughts that seemed unrelated are, in reality, connected. As cliche as it sounds, I felt like a lightbulb was turned on in my head. Knowing this now helps me know the best way to respond to my OCD. I am so grateful for her insight.

Megan is fantastic. She is very insightful and has helped me connect dots that are helping me understand how my OCD likes to operate. Armed with this knowledge, I am able to come up with effective ways to shut down my OCD’s negative voice. This is the first time in years that I’m going into the holidays feeling like I’m the one in control and not OCD. It feels wonderful.
