About

It takes an enormous amount of bravery to seek treatment for OCD. First and foremost, my job is to help you develop an understanding of OCD symptoms and why ERP is such an effective treatment. I believe in a collaborative approach. I'm here to be a coach and supporter through the hard things you'll be asked to do. I aim to empower you to recognize that you're much more powerful than your OCD. At times, my role will be to challenge you, keeping in mind that you're always in the driver's seat. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my sweet kitty and going to cat cafés. I try to stay physically active and have been weightlifting for about eight years. I enjoy reading, typically romance novels or psychological thrillers. On the weekends, you can typically find me at the beach or going for walks near the water.

Get to know Katherine Paris

I have a desire to leave a positive impact on the world and a genuine curiosity for why people behave the way they do. Being a therapist allows me to help others embrace that same curiosity about their own behavior, without judgment, and open themselves to new ways of thinking.

My passion for treating OCD with ERP comes from one simple fact: It works! As a clinician, there is arguably no better feeling than seeing a member grow from having difficulty functioning to living the life they want to live. This change is possible through the use of the evidence-based approach ERP. Unfortunately, OCD is still highly misunderstood and often overlooked as a diagnosis. It brings me joy to help a member understand their diagnosis and know they're far from alone in their fight.

Some areas of focus I have in addition to OCD include anxiety disorders, body-focused repetitive behaviors, depressive disorders, and PTSD.

You're taking a huge step toward living the life you want! Take a moment to give yourself credit for taking this step and being open to doing the work. My goal is to help you get comfortable with being uncomfortable. You are not alone in this fight. We are here to help you feel heard and understood. I know this can be scary, but I intend to meet you where you're at and go at a pace that makes sense for you.

I get it! You may have experienced stigma around OCD and sharing these thoughts in the past. If that's the case, I'm sorry. Please know that this is a safe space, free of judgment. If you're thinking to yourself, 'She probably hasn't heard anything like this before,' you'd be surprised. I understand these are not thoughts you choose to have, and they don't align with your core values. The moment we start talking about them openly, we begin taking away their power.
