My experience with treating OCD:

When I started treating OCD, I quickly realized how much this type of work means to me because I had to learn how to be okay with discomfort and uncertainty myself. I’ve been practicing as a licensed therapist since 2016. My graduate work is in mental health counseling, and I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy because it’s the gold standard of OCD treatment.

About Me

Living with OCD is hard enough without therapy. The anxiety and tension levels that it can cause ruins the way you live. I love the idea of teaching others that it’s not our thoughts or emotions that cause issues, but rather the reactions to those emotions or thoughts. I’m here to work with you to handle your OCD with an approach that’s proven to work. My clients like that I challenge them to a point where they feel confident in their ability to live with uncertainty. I can do the same for you. Let’s work together to learn the nature of your thoughts and fears, so we get you back to living your life again.

I’ve been working with NOCD for a little over a year now and my therapist Madina has been amazing! She really taught me that I can trust myself and that I have the strength to do the work. I’m now in recovery. I do take Zoloft and that helps too. When I started at NOCD, I was at rock bottom. I used to meet with Madina twice a week now I only have to see her every five weeks. My symptoms have improved so much and I feel more hopeful and excited for life than I have in three years!

I realized I had OCD in 2019 after I fell in love for the first time . I realized for my whole life I was lead by anxiety and thought I was a bad person , I reached out to a crisis hotline for help often and they told me about NOCD . I was very nervous that I would be exposed as a bad person but I worked with Madina for 8 weeks and it was a wonderful and educational experience . 2 years later I am living as myself and balancing my mental health , personal life , and professional life very well and I could not be more thankful . I will always be an advocate for OCD and I am so thankful to Madina and all of NOCD for their help .

I've been in talk therapy on and off for a decade (never dxd with OCD til recently). This has had more of an affect on my day-to-day happiness and mood than anything else I've done. It is hard at first but it's truly worth it. And my therapist is lovely.

Madina is good at reminding me what I alrady know to be true, but sometimes don't want to! Sitting with the anxiety, not searching for certainty, not "responding" to emotions, etc.
