I'm here to offer you hope. Therapy can have life-changing effects; many people have benefited from their time with NOCD. I provide a therapeutic space that allows you to be authentically yourself. OCD treatment can be difficult, but I do my best to create an enjoyable environment where you can feel safe while you're working to feel better. I've previously worked with children living in the foster care system and individuals living with substance use disorders.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I have generalized anxiety disorder and relate to a lot of symptoms of OCD. I think that's been a really important piece of what I do, because I can relate to people if they're feeling panicky, or having racing thoughts, or feeling physical symptoms of anxiety. That personal experience makes a big difference, because you're just not talking about this textbook definition—you're also relating to it. I know what it feels like, and I know how uncomfortable it can be.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I always try to start off by saying, "I know therapy can be difficult, but my goal is not to have you leave every session being like, 'I never want to go back.'" I always want to make sure that it's a comfortable place.

What I want to help you see in yourself

Many people have very black and white thinking. They'll often accomplish something in therapy, but then say, "But I used a little bit of a safety behavior." Or they'll be second-guessing themselves, so a huge thing I like to point out is your resilience and hope. A lot of times, we're our own worst critics: "But I could have done more." "But I could have stayed longer." I try to take away the "but" and just recognize the win, and be that cheerleader for you.

What my Members say helps them feel comfortable with me

I always tell people, I don't sit here and pretend to be the expert. I have the therapy knowledge, but I'm always learning, and my Members teach me a lot, too. Watching them, after a really tough week, come back and show up to session and dive right back into it has taught me a lot, not just as a therapist, but as a human. I've learned that we really are so resilient. Watching their highs and lows, and seeing their motivation, really motivates me when I have my own struggles with anxiety.

Good experience

Leigh Anne is the only therapist ive met in my entire life that cares and helps as much as she does. She makes it easy for anyone, at any point in their mental health journey, to feel comfortable and feel like there’s hope. I would recommend her to my own family and friends, she is truly a gem amongst the community.
