OCD is a highly treatable condition. Recovery is a day-by-day journey, and it happens gradually. Consistent change is what matters!
I am a proud first-generation Latina; I am bicultural and bilingual. I was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. There, I began my social work career working with youth, children, and families at risk in low-income communities. I moved to the United States in 2011. While living in Boston, I received my undergraduate degree in social work from Eastern Nazarene College. During my undergrad years, I worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Knowing this field was my true calling, I went right on to obtain my masters in social work from Boston College, with a concentration in clinical mental health and specializing in working with veterans and military families.
OCD is one of the most debilitating disorders, and it's also widely misunderstood. Providing education and empowering members are essential keys to recovery. There is hope! OCD is a highly treatable condition. Recovery is a day-by-day journey, and it happens gradually. Consistent change is what matters!
I've worked in a wide variety of settings, including schools, higher education, various communities, nonprofit organizations, and juvenile justice, while serving individuals of all ages and families from diverse backgrounds. Working in these settings, my eyes were opened to the OCD diagnosis. My areas of focus also include treating anxiety, depression, trauma, cultural issues, school counseling, and LGBTQIA+.
I am on your team. I will walk alongside you. I will support you, challenge you, and cheer your successes. I am excited to work with you and be part of your healing journey.
