Why I became a therapist

Before becoming a therapist, I was a librarian. The part I loved most was sitting down with students and faculty, learning what they were looking for, and helping them refine what they needed. That curiosity naturally led me to being a therapist. I realized that I loved getting to know people and helping them find a path forward.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I want to acknowledge what you're going through and how it's impacting your life while approaching it with curiosity instead of judgment. I work hard not to pathologize these experiences. Worrying and wanting to protect ourselves are a common part of being human, and together we can explore what's happening with compassion and openness.

What I want to help you see in yourself

If you're feeling hesitant about exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, I completely understand. You may have developed other ways of trying to feel safe, but they may also be holding you back from the life you want. ERP gives you the opportunity to gently test whether those strategies are truly helping and opens the door to thriving instead of simply getting by.

My approach to therapy

Mindfulness is a strong foundation of my work. Like ERP, mindfulness is about noticing what's happening without judging it or trying to push it away. Together, we'll practice making space for discomfort instead of running from it, so you can respond differently and move toward the life you want.
