About

My experiences have taught me the power of empathy, listening, and understanding. I believe you are the expert on your OCD, and my approach to therapy is person-centered and strengths-based. This is a collaboration. I'm here to motivate you to face your fears. Outside of work, I enjoy listening and dancing to old-school music. I enjoy traveling to different countries and learning about new cultures. I love volunteering and have traveled to volunteer in Malawi and Spain.

Get to know Jennifer Evans

I have a passion for mental health and being a social agent of change in my community. I care about mental health and the systems that impact it, such as policies and laws. I strive to end the stigma of mental illness by educating people about mental illness, utilizing skills in my own life that I teach others, and being the very best social worker/therapist I can be.

Many people are suffering from fear and anxiety. These are normal emotions that we experience every day for various reasons. It's important for people to understand that they can face their fears, and they shouldn't be ashamed of their diagnosis.

I have worked with psychosis disorders, personality disorders, PTSD/trauma disorders, neurological disorders, intellectual disabilities, mood and anxiety disorders, anger management and emotional dysregulation, body-image issues, and immigration, diversity and culture issues.

My role is to help you better understand your anxiety and OCD-related symptoms. I believe you're the expert on your OCD. I'm here to validate your emotions and encourage you to face your fears. It won't always be easy, but it will be worthwhile.

Please understand that this is your journey. I'm here to support you where you're at. However, therapy is also about confronting your weaknesses, being vulnerable and uncomfortable. To grow as a person, we have to face our fears. I will respect the phase you're in, but I will also encourage you to step out there. You got this!
