My approach to OCD therapy is simple: I begin by getting to know you as a member, with the expectation that you're going to feel better. We'll work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan, and then begin therapy. Along the way, there will be victories, and we will celebrate them together. The work isn't easy, but you can do it! Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) works — much like pouring water on a fire. My other areas of focus include addiction, depression, and trauma, and I have experience working with veterans.

Why our members love working with John
P.F.
John has already helped me learn so much, and he has listened to all my concerns and stories without judgement. He has helped me feel normal, and has also given me hope for the future.
C.C.
John is doing an excellent job explaining OCD to me and the tactics I will need to implement to try to ease my OCD symptoms in the future.
M.S.

I’m in a maintenance phase of OCD now but a new topic of intrusive thoughts come up. I had been away from NOCD therapy for a few months but I was very easily able to meet with the same therapist. It’s been comforting to talk through and normalize the intrusive thoughts without having to warm up to a new therapist first.

John has helped our son manage intrusive thoughts and anxiety very well. His use of loop tapes help calm his anxiety especially before bed time. His practical advice is easy to understand and apply. From our first visit we saw improvement and now the instances of coming to us because he is “having a bad thought” are less than ever over the last year. We look forward to continuing our work with him and the progress ahead.

John has helped us make incredible progress in a short period of time. We are so happy we found him.

ERP is really hard, but it's been very effective.

John has been working with my son since October and I can definitely see lots of improvements! He has taken the time to get to know C. and listen to his worries and concerns. Highly recommend.
