About

As a therapist, I'm very compassionate about the challenges you're facing with OCD. I can offer you hope—ERP is a proven strategy to reduce OCD symptoms. In therapy, I'm always thinking long-term. I work hard on teaching you the skills to cope with OCD and the education behind it. When our sessions are over, I want you to be able to apply skills to recognize and challenge obsessions and compulsions as they come—even if they may change.

I understand how difficult it can be to talk about intrusive thoughts. Know that those thoughts don't define who you are. I work to create an atmosphere that's safe and non-judgmental—a place where you can do the work and see progress.

I absolutely LOVED my first session with Stephaney! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and professional, she was also very warm, patient, friendly, compassionate, and accepting. It seems like she really cares about helping the people she works with and she listens without judgement. I like that she is so easy to talk to, and when my first session concluded I was left feeling both seen/ heard and really optimistic about my future. I feel like she’ll be able to help me work to get my life back and to achieve my treatment goals. I highly recommend Stephaney and can’t wait for our next meeting!

I liked the session, it’s just that our sessions are cut short all the time. I pay for 60 minutes and it lasted 45.

The OCD therapy itself was good; I made some progress, and I have the tools to potentially make more progress in the future. I just backslide when I’m under high stress (which has happened a lot lately). What ISN’T great or helpful is the administrative team contacting me out of the blue more than a year later with a generic, poorly-coded, automated email that told me I owed <badly automated code that showed up as code instead of the amount>. When I reached out to double-check that my account was in good standing, I discovered I’d been lied to more than a year prior, when the admin team assured me they had the auto-payments set up correctly (after I’d been compulsively checking them and noticing I *wasn’t* being charged my copay to begin with). I did the ERP work to sit with the uncertainty and trust the admin team’s word that they’d gotten the autopayments right this time. (I’ll admit I did compulsively check until the first one went through, but then I did ERP to *not* check the rest of them.) Lo and behold, I SHOULD have been compulsively checking them, and the admin team has destroyed my trust in the ERP process now. The person I talked to gave me three different amounts that I owed over the course of three emails over 24 hours. I finally went back and added everything up myself and came up with a fourth amount I owed. I will be paying that amount over the course of the next few months in installments, but it is HIGHLY disappointing that I’ve been burned by yet ANOTHER therapy program where I was lied to, and it turned out that my trust was misplaced and my compulsions were justified, and I should have given into those compulsions to keep checking up on the automated payments *every* time I had a session.

She had a very pleasant way about things we discussed and I realize we are just getting started. I look forward to talking more about my problem because I feel like I can open up and that she is a good listener.
