She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LCSW, M.Ed, CST
I take a very kind and gentle approach to treating OCD. I am very supportive and nonjudgmental in session; I want to make people feel as comfortable as possible expressing their thoughts. I also like to use humor in my work when appropriate. Outside of work, you can find me with all of my pets. I have two beagles and a kitten. My husband is a veterinarian and is quick to bring home animals who need homes. Every once in a while, you might even see a pet make an appearance in a session!

One of the reasons why I love being an ERP therapist is that I get to see people's lives vastly improve. There’s a reason why ERP is the gold standard—it’s extremely effective!
I know how hard it is to feel alone with your struggles. I became a therapist because I want to give folks the space to work on themselves in a safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere. I love what I do and it truly makes my heart happy to help people become more confident in themselves and live lives according to their values. I’ve also been a therapy client, so I know how life-changing it is to find a supportive therapist you can be open and vulnerable with.
OCD is a very misunderstood disorder. There’s the stereotype that OCD is all about cleaning and counting. I see the distress OCD causes people, no matter what subset they struggle with. I wanted to help people manage their intrusive thoughts without being bound to them. There is a gap in therapists who are extensively trained to work with OCD, and I joined NOCD to help bridge that gap.
In addition to OCD, I am specialized in sex therapy and substance abuse treatment. In graduate school, I completed a dual master's program in social work and human sexuality. After grad school, I completed the requirements to become a certified sex therapist with the American Association of Sex Educators Counselors and Therapists. I also have extensive experience working in substance abuse, and I've worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am well-versed in co-morbid diagnoses of OCD, sexuality, and addiction.
ERP is not easy, but it's so rewarding to take control of your OCD without giving in to compulsions. You deserve to live a life that is not dictated by OCD. It takes a lot of hard work to get there, but it is so worth it!
My only goal is to help you get better. I’m not here to judge anyone’s thoughts. My priority is guiding you to live a life that is not directed by intrusive thoughts and compulsions. If you're afraid to share any thoughts with me, let me know there's something you want to share but feel afraid. We will take things at your pace.
