I'm going on 10 years as a licensed therapist, with my path leading me to NOCD where I can help people overcome their OCD. I began in community mental health for several years, moving into private practice for the past 5 years, where I treated OCD as well as trauma and anxiety. Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy was created to expose you to the fears that drive your OCD, and as your therapist, I’ll use ERP to show you how to overcome those fears so you can manage your OCD once you’ve completed treatment.
Having gone through therapy in the past, I appreciate what it takes for anyone to seek help for their OCD. From the beginning of therapy, I will foster a non-judgemental relationship that accepts you as who you are. It’s important to understand that you are not your OCD; it doesn’t define you. We simply have to work together so you can learn how to let intrusive thoughts pass by without dependence on compulsions to relieve your OCD anxiety. It’s a challenge, but I know you can do it. I model my approach or people that are anxious, which means that you’ll find me to be calm with a willingness to learn about you, and tailor treatment to your needs. If you’re ready to overcome your OCD, I’m here to help.
