My experience with treating OCD:

My experience as a therapist has led me to becoming specialized in OCD. Before NOCD, I worked recently in a community treatment program where I treated patients with severe mental illness and anxiety disorders, trauma care, and more. My work has prepared me for treating any OCD subtype using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy. I find research methods to be the most valuable, and ERP is not only well-researched, but proven to treat OCD effectively.

About Me

OCD has a way of making you feel stuck and frustrated. Dealing with intrusive thoughts can leave you feeling afraid, overwhelmed, and stressed. Those thoughts can lead to compulsive behaviors that recycle anxiety into your life. ERP can help you put a stop to this cycle. I'll ask you to face your fears during therapy, but every session is one step toward putting your OCD troubles behind you. you One of my best skill sets is getting people to open up. I run treatment with a laid-back and non-judgemental approach so you can feel safe in sharing your thoughts. I've treated people with various criminal backgrounds, so nothing you say will scare me. Let's work together to find a life that brings you less anxiety and greater joy.

Like I told my therapist. for some reason I'm not grasping the therapy for my type of o.c.d.it could be because I live alone?I don't know.

I’m having trouble grasping the e.r.p. Therapy.it’s very risky for me.I’ve seen videos at times but, for some reason I’m not understanding it?i know in general what o.c.d. Is.but, I’m trying to remember the therapy and do it at the same time.if that makes any sense.

Sorry it was too short .I don’t have a lot of money.and my insurance doesn’t cover anything.I wish your rates weren’t so high for an hour.it would be nice if I can work something out?

I’ve sent a lot of messages to my therapist.I’m trying to stop my o.c.d. For me it’s a lot of baby steps.I have to get rid of those bad feelings.period.

It is scary to think that I can avoid what I've been doing for so many years. (The counting ).and the( intrusive thoughts )that I feel I forgot something where ever I go .

It's unfortunate I couldn't keep my original therapist when I started. Like anyone I hate starting over again.

I’ve been meeting with Neil for a few weeks now and I’m starting to see progress. It’s a good feeling to know it’s working especially when OCD sneaks back up and tries to trick you.

Neil is awesome.

The analogy with the car was good. Also the fact that he didn't make a decision for me was a good thing. He gave good hopeful ways to deal with compulsions.

He listened to me and had zero judgment. He also asked questions about me outside of ocd which helped ground me. Felt very seen and heard today, highly recommend.
