I've spent over 10 years working with people that had PTSD. What drives me as a mental health service provider is seeing the positive shift in people's behavior and spirits. Using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) techniques during OCD treatment allows me to make a positive change by addressing the whole person, not just the symptoms.
OCD torments you by creating unwanted thoughts that can be so horrific and shocking that they become hard to avoid, turning them into obsessions. The impact this has on your life is unlike anything many people have ever experienced. Because they're unprepared on how to deal with them, they end up practicing rituals to relieve the anxiety caused by them. But the anxiety returns, putting a person through a vicious cycle of stress and fear. I'll use ERP to guide you away from the clutches of OCD. I'll create a safe space for you to share your thoughts so that we can address the impact OCD is making on your family, spiritual life, relationships, and more. I want you to leave my sessions feeling confident that you can manage OCD on your own, but understand that you have to face your fears first, as the confidence in yourself comes afterward.
