Throughout my time as a therapist working primarily with teenagers, I saw how successful Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy could be in helping those with OCD. ERP is an evidence-based approach to treating OCD, and being able to see the changes in people after receiving proper treatment has been incredibly fulfilling to me as a practitioner. I want to extend my services to help more people, and I’m able to do that at NOCD.
It’s a challenge for those with OCD to explain the types of intrusive thoughts that they’re having. They may involve people they love in harmful or taboo situations, or they can come about in others ways that make someone feel like something is wrong with them, as though their intrusive thoughts indicate the type of person they are. I will make you feel comfortable and not feel like you’re being judged, so you can open up and get the healing started. Facing your fears is scary, but it’s how you’ll grow. That’s part of ERP therapy. Members described me as empathetic, calm, and a good listener, so you’ll be in good hands. Our sessions will be a collaboration to break you free from the clutches of OCD.
