I’ve been a therapist since 1994, holding a private practice since 2000. As a person with OCD, I know how torturous it can be to deal with intrusive thoughts and the anxiety that they cause. and how improper treatment does not solve the problem. I eventually did Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, so I know firsthand how powerful and effective it is. ERP is a researched method that brings results, and as a therapist who's held a private practice since 2000, I will use ERP to get you out of the anguish you feel.
When OCD gets a hold of you, it tries not to let go. It survives by creating intrusive thoughts that you can't escape, forcing you to develop creative ways to relieve the overwhelming pressure that they make. I usually don't talk about my OCD with people in real life, but I will share that information with you so you know that you won't be judged by me when sharing your thoughts and urges during our sessions. I will stay with you all the way through to the end of treatment when you're finally able to manage your OCD on your own. I've been called empathetic and supportive by members, and I hope you will eventually find that out for yourself. Together, we'll empower you so you can live a fulfilled life.
