As a therapist treating people with OCD, I want people to understand and reduce their anxiety caused by intrusive thoughts. I’ll help you get familiar with your anxiety, and to teach you how to work through it. I’ve worked as a health provider for over 20 years and use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, because it helps address your physical, mental, and emotional challenges when dealing with OCD.
When intrusive thoughts get into your head, they stick, and force you to deal with the anxiety and emotional turmoil that come along with it. You may also be practicing mental or physical rituals (also known as compulsions) to relieve your anxiety. Using ERP, I will teach you to not depend on compulsions. It’s a big step, but I’m here to help. Over the years, people have said that I’m easy to work with, and that I understand them well, making them feel safe and comfortable. I will listen to you with compassion and empathy, because I know living with COD is hard. Let’s work tougher to make a positive difference in your life.
