Good experience

I signed up for counseling with NOCD back in January 2025. I had no idea at the time that doing so would literally change my life. My therapist Melissa has been incredibly supportive and non-judgemental. We worked together doing ERP during our sessions and then I also did homework on days we didn't meet. All of this contained a lot of challenges but we worked together to make them doable. By taking these small steps on a regular basis I was able to take on bigger challenges as my skills and ability to tolerate discomfort increased. Today my OCD symptoms are significantly reduced. I also have the tools to know how to respond (or not! ha!) so as not to engage the cycle. What's perhaps most unexpected is how this has impacted other areas of my life, as my approach to both relationships and career has shifted to a much healthier, balanced perspective. Working with Melissa specifically was such a blessing as she was very understanding and supportive whilst also keeping us on track. She had to be extra creative at times and she was persistently solutions-oriented even when some of my difficulties presented unique challenges to the process. I cannot recommend NOCD counseling highly enough. Is it easy? Absolutely not. It was perhaps one of the hardest things I'd ever done. But it is 100% worth it - your future self will thank you!
