I've spent much of my career working in a hospital setting where I saw many people with OCD, along with other issues such as trauma, depression, and anxiety. I also have a brother that suffers from OCD, and I’ve seen the impact OCD can make at home. People with OCD can make great progress in treatment when Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is used. ERP is very focused because ERP can be tailored for any OCD subtype. I'm motivated to teach you how to manage your OCD so you can reach your highest level of independence.
OCD forces you to depend on new behaviors called compulsions to help relieve the anxiety caused by intrusive thoughts. These compulsions seem to be the right solution, but relying on them means trapping yourself in a cycle that can leave you isolated from what you enjoy doing. It's scary to open up and share uncomfortable experiences, but i'm not here to judge, I'm here to listen and tune in to what you're saying. Members find me easy to communicate with and say that I have a laid back personality that helps put them at ease. If you have a young one suffering from OCD, I also have extensive experience working with children and adolescents. I look forward to a collaboration that puts your OCD behind you.
