My experience with treating OCD:

Over the years, I've enjoyed treating children & teens with OCD and watching them work to put their mental health troubles behind them. With NOCD, I specialize in treating OCD for all ages. During sessions, I will use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy because ERP is proven to be effective. Having treated children with severe behavior problems, some were in child protective services and truly needing care, I can say that I've seen it all and can help with any OCD subtype.

About Me

Before I became a therapist, I was a school teacher. I loved developing relationships with students and watching their character grow. When treating children with OCD, it's best to describe what's going on in a way that they'll understand. For example, I may tell them to think of OCD opening your door and sitting in your house, but you never invited them in. Children understand what an intruder is and that intruders, like OCD, are bad people. I'm very enthusiastic and have no problem conducting sessions with parents in the room. I'll tell children that your thoughts do not make you a bad person and that OCD is something happening to them and not a reflection of who they are. Allow me to work with your child to put their OCD troubles behind them.
