Specializing in OCD is a personal mission. I’ve struggled with contamination and body-focused OCD, along with anxiety and panic, and I remember how isolating it felt. Getting help from a therapist who used evidence-based treatment completely changed my life. I’ve spent eight years working with individuals who have OCD, and I’ve seen time and time again how effective OCD therapy can be. I want to be the kind of therapist I once needed: someone who understands the complexity of OCD, doesn't shy away from the hard stuff, and can offer research-backed tools that work.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I have firsthand experience with OCD myself, and I also live with anxiety. I first realized I had OCD in college, but looking back, it was present as early as high school. Exposure and response prevention (ERP) helped me a lot, and that experience shapes how I approach my work today. Because I've been through this process myself, I understand how challenging—and how powerful — it can be.

How my background shapes my approach to therapy

I spent several years working at a high school with teenagers from many different backgrounds and life experiences. That work helped me learn how to truly meet people where they are. My social work training also emphasized understanding the broader systems people live within and recognizing how different identities and experiences shape someone's life. I approach therapy with curiosity, compassion, and cultural humility, recognizing that I'm not the expert on someone else's experience.

How I create a safe and collaborative space

I try to create a completely nonjudgmental and compassionate environment where my Members feel supported. Collaboration is very important to me—we work together to understand your goals and what you want to accomplish. I often say that my goal is to help people get out of their heads and back into their lives. Everyone brings their own identities, experiences, and values into therapy, and I'm always curious about how those shape what they're hoping to achieve.

What I want Members to see in themselves

I want my Members to recognize that they are stronger than they think. Often, people with OCD overestimate the risk and underestimate their ability to cope. You are far more capable of handling difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences than OCD may make you believe. Your thoughts do not define who you are. We are not our thoughts—we are our values and the things that matter most to us.
