I’m a friendly, non-judgmental therapist who wants to help you understand how your brain and body respond to anxiety so you can make meaningful progress toward the life you want. I value collaboration, empathy, and helping you recognize your progress along the way. This is a space where you can talk openly about your thoughts and experiences without feeling defined by them. Why I chose to specialize in OCD

I've felt my share of anxiety, and I love nothing more than to be that empathetic voice from a standpoint of knowing what anxiety feels like when it's really stuck in your mind. Being able to make progress and get to the goals you actually want to achieve is so meaningful. I think when you have someone who understands what it feels like, it's a little easier to connect and have that person alongside you on your journey.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

Being a therapist for 18 years, I've truly heard it all. I love helping people realize that their thoughts and experiences aren't unique to them, and that others have struggled with the same things before. No matter how outlandish it might feel to say out loud, I've truly heard it before. I think it's so refreshing when you can give some light to those things you're going through with a non-judgmental person who really understands that those things do not define you.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

When you hear about the idea of exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, it may feel like a big step. But it's kind of like anything in life: when you think about the entire thing all at once, it can feel like a lot. It's really just one crumb at a time that builds upon the next. We take it step by step, at a level that is tolerable and builds your confidence. It's completely collaborative.

The most rewarding parts of being a therapist

It's a huge honor to be part of someone's world for a period of time, and to help them get to a place where they're feeling more fulfilled. I love to teach people how their brain works and how their body works, so they can understand how to take control back from OCD and live a full, rich life. My favorite part is hearing about people's lives, the changes they're able to make, and the power they're able to take back.
