My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I knew I wanted to become a therapist after getting treatment myself. I'm diagnosed with complex PTSD, and OCD is part of it. Looking for help felt very lonely and very scary. That's why I want to be the person I needed when I was searching for support.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

My biggest thing is transparency. I'll be very direct and clear about what we're going to be doing in therapy—step by step, with no surprises. I'll come as my authentic self, and I'll ask that you come as yours. We'll work together, and whatever I ask of you, know that I'm doing it with you. You won't be by yourself.

Why collaboration matters to me

I'm very down-to-earth and personable. I'm not going to talk at you—I want therapy to feel collaborative and natural. I want it to feel like we're having a conversation, because that's what I bring: my authentic self.

What I want you to see in yourself

I want you to realize that you really are strong enough and can endure hard things. OCD and anxiety can make you feel like you're not strong enough, but once you start doing the work and see what you're capable of, it's amazing.
