Why I became a therapist

I wanted to help people. I'm also in recovery from substance use, and this year I celebrated 16 years. That's what originally pulled me into working in mental health, and it's also why I enjoy helping people recover from anxiety disorders and OCD. Seeing people find relief and experience profound change is what makes this work meaningful to me.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

My first priority is to create a completely non-judgmental space. I want you to know from day one that no thought or anxiety is too taboo or shameful to bring into our sessions. I focus on helping you see that your intrusive thoughts do not define your character or your values. We'll work together at your pace so you can feel empowered to challenge your fears safely.

What makes my approach different

I bring my own lived experience with anxiety to our sessions. I understand those vicious thought cycles that can take over your life, and I know it's possible to find a way out of them. I'm also very personable; I adjust my style to each of my Members, and I use analogies to explain things in ways that make sense. My goal is to provide the best treatment I can and to help empower you to change your life.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

I can imagine that starting exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy may feel intimidating or uncertain if it's new to you. If you're here, it's probably because you're aware that OCD has become an issue in your life, and ERP is the most effective way to help you move forward and address it.
