Why I became an OCD therapist

I became a therapist because I saw a lack of empathy and knowledge around mental health. I wanted to spread that knowledge, help people through their troubles, and stay connected to the community. I love working with people, and I chose to specialize in OCD because I've always had an interest in it and saw that many people struggle with OCD without having access to the right treatment.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I'm very non-judgmental, consistent, and empathetic. I like to incorporate mindfulness, collaboration, and empowerment into my approach, so you can recognize what you're capable of. Although I may be an expert on change and mental wellness, you are the expert on yourself. By working together, we can accomplish great things.

What I want you to recognize about your progress

I want you to understand that this—the change you create in therapy—is your accomplishment. Although we may be collaborating, the progress you make is yours.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

Exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy may feel different from what you're used to, but it has positive, evidence-based results. Change can bring up fear, and I understand that. But you never know what you can accomplish and how you can grow until you try.
