I’ve seen firsthand how effective therapy can be—it helped me transition from military to civilian life. OCD and intrusive thoughts don’t define who you are; they often run counter to your values. In our work together, I’ll help you understand what you're experiencing and face fears directly, so you can respond differently to what feels overwhelming. I can also help you find meaning in what you've gone through. I have experience with how OCD overlaps with anxiety, including specific phobias, and I work frequently with veterans and their families.

My personal connection to mental health and therapy

Therapy has been helpful in my own life, especially during my transition from the military world to the civilian sector. I went to a six-month PTSD recovery center, and that changed my life. I've also gone to therapy for anxiety and related disorders, and I've seen firsthand how positive and impactful therapy can be. After seeing how helpful it was for me, I decided to become a therapist so I could help others.

How my background shapes my approach

I'm a veteran myself, and I've worked a lot with the veteran population and their families, as well as in community-based and outpatient mental health centers and faith-based community resources. My goal is to make therapy accessible and helpful to everybody in any walk of life.

How I help you understand your experience with OCD

Just because you're experiencing an anxious thought or an intrusive thought does not mean that's what you think or believe, or what you want to hold true about yourself. These thoughts are not your thoughts. These beliefs are not your beliefs. Rather, they're attacking your values. I want to help you become your authentic self through this journey.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

This is an invitation and an opportunity to engage in one of the most empowering and transformative therapies. Through exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, you're given the opportunity to engage your fears head-on. If you truly want to feel empowered through your therapeutic journey, I would invite you to walk alongside me and allow me to walk alongside you through this process.
