My work focuses on helping people understand themselves and their relationships more deeply. I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed by guilt or shame about OCD, especially when loved ones don’t know how to help. As your therapist, I'll create a space where you feel supported, respected, and understood. We'll work together to develop tools for living a happy and fulfilling life. It's okay to be scared. I'm here to walk with you through that feeling. Besides treating OCD, I'm passionate about working with couples and families.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

One of my family members has suffered from OCD since they were young. This has given me the opportunity to understand it on a very personal level. I also spent a lot of time working in the social services field. I've worked with people who were in extreme crisis through child protective services and people who suffered from extreme mental health issues, with very little access to services.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

It's important that you feel like you're met where you're at, that you are in a nonjudgmental environment, and that you're given the space you need to provide information that lets me connect with your experience. My Members appreciate that I give them the time to talk about what they're feeling and that there's not a lot of pressure when they're talking to me.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I want you to see that you're resilient and able to deal with the issues that come your way throughout your life. I want you to understand that you have the ability to push through things that are hard, and that just because you suffer from something like OCD doesn't mean you're trapped inside it.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

I think someone who's unsure about exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy needs to understand that it's very successful and that sometimes, when we do hard things, we get the biggest reward. ERP therapy gives you the opportunity to confront the issues that you're dealing with and gives you power over what's happening. This has really empowered me to impact people in as many ways as I possibly can to help them really get a grasp on the mental health issues that they've been going through.
